APHA's Get Ready Campaign

APHA's Get Ready Campaign: Check Emergency Stockpile Kits When Setting Back Clocks on November 1*** When we adjust your clocks this weekend , the American Public Health Association would like us to "check our stocks" as part of their campaign to raise awareness of the importance of having a stocked emergency preparedness kit complete with food, water and first aid supplies.

The National Library of Medicine has released a new product in beta called Pillbox http://pillbox.nlm.nih.gov/. This website allows you to identify pills using the shape, color, size, scoring and imprint.

HealthDay TV

MedlinePlus launched HealthDay TV today, a new multimedia feature for the health news section of the Web site. Each weekday, MedlinePlus will display a new HealthDay TV news video, covering the latest news in medical research in an easy-to-understand, consumer-friendly format. In addition to the weekday videos, a Saturday summary video will appear as a wrap-up of the previous week’s headlines. The HealthDay TV videos are only available on the English version of MedlinePlus.

Website for Medication Info: DailyMed

The FDA’s database of approved labels, DailyMed, now includes an image search interface. Find the medication images by color, shape, size, imprints, and scoring by using the Product Identification System on the left menu bar.

DailyMed provides high quality information about marketed drugs. This information includes FDA approved labels (package inserts). This Web site provides health information providers and the public with a standard, comprehensive, up-to-date, look-up and download resource of medication content and labeling as found in medication package inserts. The National Library of Medicine (NLM) provides this as a public service and does not accept advertisements.
